Sat 10 October 2009: a 7 mile meander

On this very sunny morning  we headed off for a gentle meander along the towpath and the back streets of Jericho to Wolvercote. A lot of chatter and everyone enjoying themselves as we went past Godstow Nunnery and through the lock – good picture opportunity! Nearly safely through to Binsey when we were charged by a herd of snorting bulls – well not exactly, actually we  met 2 young dogs zipping about with their owner waving his arms in the air and shouting ‘Allez!’ at some confused and not totally friendly black cows  which made our path through the herd a little more interesting than it needed to be! Luckily we all survived unscathed and managed to wend our way to the Jam Factory for a coffee and cake, or in some cases a lovely local beer and a bit more chat! The ride leader was Sarah Spackman.
