Sat 25 April 2009: a mixed social ride to Wytham Woods in search of bluebells

Male friends and partners of Isis Cyclists joined us today for our third mixed social ride. Around thirty (!) riders gathered at the Sheldonian for the ride out to Wytham Woods via Folly Bridge, Osney Lock, Oatlands Road, Binsey Lane and Wolvercote. Timing was perfect: bluebells as far as the eye could see! After a short walk around the Woods we stopped for refreshments at the pub in Wytham, and then wended our very happy way in unseasonal but gorgeous summery weather back to town via Wolvercote and the north Oxford cycle path. The ride was approximately 10 miles in length. The ride leaders of the two groups were Amanda Wrigley and Ellen Lee, and the sweepers Karen Wolff and Stephen Lee.
