Sat 23 May 2009: two rides converging on the University Parks for a riverside picnic

Today was a bit special: we had two rides of different lengths to enable all Isis Cyclists to join together for a riverside picnic in celebration of Isis leader Ellen Lee. At 10am on Saturday 23 May, a 15 mile ride will set off from the Sheldonian Theatre in Broad Street, and at 11am an 8-10 mile ride will set off from the same starting point. The 15 mile ride, which headed out in the direction of Woodeaton, was led by Amanda Wrigley. The 8-10 mile ride was led by Ellen Lee, taking ‘The Devil’s Backbone’ to South Hinksey, and returning via North Hinksey and Jericho. Both rides were ‘mixed socials’, and approximately thirty-five people met up at the University Parks for a picnic in glorious weather! Thanks to all for making this such a lovely occasion!
